LEWES YACHT CLUB SWIM TEAM NEWSLETTER

Head Coach: Scott Bleile, Jr.

Assistant Coach: Melissa Bleile

From the Coach:

WELCOME SWIMMERS & PARENTS!! Welcome to the beginning of the 2007 Summer Swim Season!! My name is Scott Bleile Jr., and this is my first season with our swim team. I use the word “our”, because without your participation, effort, and support the LYC would not have a chance to shine this year. I have gained my swimming experience through competitive swimming and coaching summer teams, winter teams, and also at the high school varsity level. I now look to pass on the knowledge I have gained to help my swimmers excel in and out of the pool.

My assistant coach this year will be Melissa Bleile, my wife. Melissa swam in high school, life-guarded on the beach, and has taught many children how to swim. She is a 5th grade teacher in the Woodbridge School District. I look forward for her to assist with swimming instruction and to help create an environment that will allow our swimmers to succeed

I enjoy coaching swimmers of all ages. I understand the learning abilities of my younger swimmers, and the schedules of the older or working swimmers. My workouts are created for any age group and ability. Whether you are a first year swimmer or a swimmer staying in shape for a high school season, the workout will challenge you and help you improve.

As important as a coach is to the team, parents are just as important. I plan to set-up a “Boosters Club” or parent support group for the Lewes Yacht Club Swim Team, to help with organizing meets, banquets, t-shirt/sweats sales, and suit sizing. Our first sign-up meeting for swimmers and parents will be on SUNDAY, MARCH 11th from 1-3pm at the LYC. If you are interested in helping in anyway please let me know. It takes volunteers to time, keep score, write ribbons, and be a stroke/turn judge. Your help is greatly appreciated.
