The mission of the Lewes Yacht Club is to serve our members and their families in their enjoyment of the beach, the bay and our Club facilities
while supporting the diversity of our membership, the informality of our activities and our respect for one another.
Relying on the principles of volunteerism, ours is a club of committees overseeing the day to day operations of the Club in a prudent manner.

Life Membership Nominations
If you have someone who you feel is deserving of the honor of Life Membership at LYC, now is the time for you to submit your nomination to the Membership Committee. The nominee must be at least 70 years old, have been a Club member at least 25 years and have performed exceptional services for LYC over the years. If you know a member such as this, please submit your nomination in writing, with the reasons you feel they qualify for Life Membership, to the Membership Committee before July15.

SENIOR MEMBERSHIP
Are you 75 years old or will you be by September 30? If so, you qualify to become a Senior member which entitles you lower dues, no “dining minimums” but no loss of any of the privileges of membership at LYC. You need to notify the Membership Committee in writing of your desire to become a Senior Member; be sure to send in proof of age (a copy of your drivers license, birth certificate, passport, etc.) no later than September 1.

LEWES YACHT CLUB -- WAITING LIST INFORMATION
The Lewes Yacht Club maintains a waiting list for membership (it may be reviewed on this website). The Club membership is now at its limit, so a current member must drop out to allow space for a new member. While there is no reliable estimate of the time that will pass until a membership vacancy will occur, at the present time new applicants can expect to be on the waiting list between three and five years.
To be placed on the waiting list, you must fill out a waiting list form and submit a nonrefundable fee of $100.00. When the Club receives the waiting list form and fee, a letter will be sent confirming that the applicant is on the waiting list.
When membership falls below the numerical limit those on the waiting list, in first-come first-served order, are invited to join the Club. If the person invited to join declines to join or if they do not respond to the invitation, their position on the waiting list is forfeited and the next person on the list is asked to join. This procedure continues until the Club is again at its limit of members. The current fees to join the Club are:

These fees are subject to change and the fees in effect when a person is placed on the waiting list and the fees when they are invited to join may NOT be the same. Currently, when a person joins the Club, the first year fees are $5000.00. In subsequent years, the member pays the annual dues and the dining minimum (current dining minimum fee is $200.00 per year). The Club’s membership year runs from January 1 to December 31. Those on the waiting list do not have any membership privileges. However, the Club does provide activities to non-members. We have sunfish sailboats available for rent, a children’s swim team, sailing lessons, and water aerobics classes. For details of these and other activities visit our website at www.lewesyc.com.
