Revised 4/24/08

Notice: Marina procedure for assigning slips via the Transfer List

Reason: The previous process for assigning slips via the transfer list required that we contact each person in the order that their name appears on the transfer list as to if they want a slip being offered. Example: if we had two vacant slips, we would start with the person who is #1 on the list and see if they want either slip; if not, we go to #2 and so on. Let’s say we got down to #10 who took one of the two slips. At that point we start back at #1 to see if they want #10’s slip and this goes on and on. It took a combination of about 200 emails and phone calls over a month of time to complete this process. For continuity, one person on the Marina Committee handled this process. The amount of time and energy by this volunteer was too much for one person and did not insure all people on the list were contacted.

Process: Transfer List assigning slips.

• The assigning of slips via the Transfer List will be completed in one day;
• Each person who’s name appears on the Transfer List may choose to participate or not;
• Those who choose to participate will assemble at the LYC Clubhouse on the 3rd Saturday of March at 9:00 am;
• If you can not attend you may send one person to represent you. (Representative does not have to be a member of LYC);
• At the meeting we will start with #1 and go thru the list until all vacant slips are re-assigned;
• Choosing a new slip requires you to either come off the Transfer List or go to the bottom of the Transfer List;
• This process of assigning slips via the Transfer List will take place on this day only;
• If for any reason a slip becomes available after the process day, that slip will be rented on a temporary basis for that season and then put into the pool of open slips for the next year’s process;
• The process will go smoother if you know what slips you would accept; make inspection of the marina before the meeting;
• You will need to know your boat’s length, beam and if a sail boat, its draft;
• For contact purposes, keep your address, phone number(s) and email current with the LYC;
• This procedure will be advertised in the LYC newsletter every December, January and February.
